Google’s reputation for innovation in online communications takes another leap forwards with the introduction of Google Wave. Wave is being touted as the ultimate on-line collaboration tool, well it might be but it is in early beta and a lot of the planned functionality is still missing. However, the early beta shows the potential for Wave.

To get a better idea of what Google Wave is about you should read what Mashable had to say about it here and the read the comprehensive guide written by Gina Trapani here.

To help spread the Google Wave message I am giving away five invitations to Google Wave to the first readers who leave a comment on this post saying why they want Google Wave and how they will use it. It really is that simple.

This means that if you sign up to the free service through an existing subscriber you get 2.5gb free storage.

Disclosure time -  I am a Mozy user and if you subscribe to this Mozy offer I, too, will receive an extra half gig of storage. However, I would not tout a service I did not believe in and Mozy has saved me on two occasions when I have had hard disk problems and needed to retrieve vital files. Together with Dropbox Mozy is one of the must have services I use and recommend without hesitation.

To find out more about Mozy you can read my review here.

If you want to subscribe to Mozy and get the extra space click here.

    Hi Kevin,
I am looking at different ways of collaborating with colleagues over a wide geographical area and this may be the way to do it. Need to have a play with Wave to find out if the real time feel of the software will tempt them in!
  • Jon, on its way. It's a bit spooky watching someone type as you are watching!
  • Thanks for this post, Kevin
I have not had the opportunity to use and review Google Wave as yet, but would like to do so. I would like to use it to bring a small group of bloggers together and mastermind some strategies that will benefit all parties from a business standpoint. Who knows where that could lead, but if nothing else, it would provide another means of sharing technology and ideas by exposing the group to this real-time tool.

Mozy is a very good service that I subscribed to some months ago and remain happy with. Just did a review recently and I too would recommend using Mozy.
  • In the post - or should I say surfing its way to you!
  • Much appreciated, Kevin
    Many Thanks :-)

    Hi, Kevin.
I've been hoping to get my hands on a Wave invite since the service was first announced. I'm a filmmaker, and my writing partner and I frequently use Google Docs to collaborate, but I'm really hot on the idea of using some sort of real time software for brainstorming and outlining, as well as to take the place of certain face to face meetings. It's going to take a bit of arm twisting to get many of the people I work with onboard, which is why I want to start playing with it as soon as possible. If you've still got invites by the time this gets posted, I'd be grateful for one.

  • Dee, invite is on its way. Some come through fast, some slow.
  • I've just started using Mozy. Pretty sure I'm going to like it, but sad the free version is only 2MB. Right now, it's just backing up my roboform data. I need something really hefty for my client sites and my photography!!

Thanks for letting us know about the deal!
  • Erica, you don't get a lot for free but if you are willing to pay for a servie I'd recommend you look at Dropbox or Sugarsync. Disclaimer, the Sugarlink 125 on the right hand bar is an affiliate link.

Hi, I'm so amazed of Wave, that I really want to see it in action! I hope you give me an invitation to this new thing.
